  Badger Ridge Greenhouse carries a full line of flowers and plants for all of your gardening needs. Flower borders, deer resistant plants, drought tolerant plants, ground cover, shade plants, and cold weather plants from Alberta’s plant hardiness zones can all be found in our retail facility. Badger Ridge Greenhouse carries garden supplies from your favourite Brand name growers, like Proven Winners, Ecke Ranch, Flower Fields, Fischer Flowers and Olgalvee Geraniums. We specialize in premium hanging flower baskets and outdoor planters using high quality plants and products. We design unique planting combinations with flower varieties that are propagated on our farm from un-rooted cuttings. We also provide quality outdoor planters made up of well known favorite flower varieties from brands such as Proven Winners. We are artistic with our garden planter designs and also offer our customers tremendous variety of hanging baskets. We offer creative baskets that are designed to tolerate full sun such as petunia, osteospermum, calibrachoa and verbena mixtures and mixtures of shade plants such as begonias, fuchsias and inpatients. Our hanging baskets and outdoor planters are grown in our own greenhouses at an elevation of 4000 feet creating a hardy product unique to this region. For those customers who are fans of container gardening and prefer to provide their own containers, we are able to offer custom design while still allowing the plants to mature in a greenhouse environment. The basket filler items used in our basket and planter combinations are also available for sale in single 3 ½” pots for customers to design their own combinations at home and in their gardens. Beside the Proven Winners varieties, we also propagate our own varieties from well known brands such as Ecke Ranch, Flower Fields, Fischer Flowers and Olgalvee Geraniums. We mix our outdoor planters with varieties of ornamental grasses, dracaenas, lilies, cordyline, coleus and many other interesting plants offering unique colour and texture to our mixed plantings. In addition to starting our plants from un-rooted cuttings and rooted plugs, we have a large variety of annual plants that we grow from seed such as pansies, petunias, snapdragons, dusty miller, lobelia, alyssum, marigolds and many other varieties. These annual plants are sold as four-packs or by a flat. We love our tomatoes at Badger Ridge; we grow a wide variety of both tomatoes and herbs. We grow both traditional tomatoes as well as a selection of unique heirloom tomato plants. Our Heirloom tomato seeds come from the Canadian tomato specialist of Upper Canada Seed. All of these tomatoes are available in a variety of sizes from as small as 4 inch pots and up to 3 gallon containers. We have also had tremendous success growing hanging tomato plants. Tumbler tomatoes in 12” hanging baskets provide early cherry tomatoes lasting throughout the summer. Our 12” hanging tomato plants have been a huge hit for both adults and children. We enjoy growing herbs and using them for cooking in our own home! We grow multiple varieties of basil, oregano, thyme, sage, rosemary, tarragon, and mint. All of our plants and baskets are grown in Premier potting soil and fertilized with Plant Prod. We have these products available for sale. This year, for the first time, we will be offering some garden fountains and garden statuary from Henri Studios. We have selected some products from this line based on what type of garden decor we would like to see in our own yard. Badger Ridge is a family business located on our ranch outside of Calgary, Alberta. We started with one greenhouse in 2000 and have grown to over 18,000 square feet of space today. We are easily reached from the communities of Calgary, Airdrie, Cochrane, Cremona, Carstairs, and Crossfield.
